Three Pitch@Palace 5.0 startups have made their way through a challenging and highly competitive MassChallenge UK application period to be announced as Finalists.
MassChallenge, the most startup-friendly accelerator on the planet, recently announced the 100 Finalists for the 2016 UK accelerator programme to be held in London this autumn. With over 1,000 applications for the 2016 UK programme and particular interest from female-founders and entrepreneurs from all over the world, we’re delighted three former Pitch@Palace 5.0 startups have made it through:
Developing a rapid, non-invasive, accurate and affordable diagnostic test for the early detection of prostate cancer.
Safely delivering drugs and nutrients to breastfeeding infants.
Developing a magnetic blood filter able to remove specific targets from blood to treat blood-borne diseases.
The full lists of 2016 MassChallenge Finalists can be found here.
To date, 835 MassChallenge alumni startups globally have raised over £1.4 billion in funding and created over 50,000 jobs. The early-stage startups that join MassChallenge are selected based on their impact and potential, with the intention to make massive impact on the economy, create jobs, and solve some of the world’s biggest problems.
UK-based MassChallenge CMO Diane Perlman said, “We’re delighted to have such outstanding finalists come through this year, it’s been incredible. We are doubly excited to see that three of the Finalist teams came out of Pitch@Palace — a great endorsement of the work The Duke of York and his team are doing to identify and help some of the country’s most promising startups. We’re excited to help Cambridge Oncometrix, Just Milk, and Medisieve — along with the other Finalists — on the next stage of their journey”.
MassChallenge Finalists have access to top mentors, world-class corporate partners, free office space, and have the opportunity to win up to £50,000 in individual cash awards with no equity taken. The programme runs from 1 September to 1 December. Winning startups will be announced 1 December at the MassChallenge UK Awards Ceremony.
