Pitch@Palace 5.0 took place on 7 March, 2016 with 14 finalists Pitching their business ideas to an audience of more than 300 at St. James’s Palace.
The theme of Pitch@Palace 5.0 was Biotech. The Pitches brought together some of the best start up talent spanning across diagnostics and therapeutics, big data, medical devices, research technologies and consumer healthcare.
The Duke of York summed up the UK’s Biotech scene at the start of the event “Biotech is a key sector for the UK – it is at the centre of so much of our activity. Many of the ideas you will hear about today have come out of the phenomenal research that takes place in our Universities.”
Michael Hayman, co-founder of the campaigning company Seven Hills, moderated the evening. As usual, each Entrepreneur had 3 minutes to Pitch their business to the audience.
The winners were JustMilk, Doctify and MediSeive. The winner of the People’s Choice Award was Cambridge Oncometrix – a non-invasive test for the early detection of prostate cancer.
